Ormonde Construction

Project Callan Primary Care

The project involved the construction of a Primary Care Centre and Neighbour Centre in Westcourt, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. This integrated facility comprises a 3,000 square feet GP Surgery, a Pharmacy, Dry Cleaners, Retail Unit, as well as associated parking, service yards, and landscaping.

Situated on a level brownfield site adjacent to the local Secondary School and in front of Strathmore Lodge Nursing Home, the construction project presented unique challenges and considerations. Preservation of the nursing home's entrance was imperative, requiring constant maintenance throughout the project. Additionally, some existing services needed redirection to facilitate the construction seamlessly.

The Primary Care Centre underwent a meticulous fit-out process adhering to HSE standards. This comprehensive interior transformation included the installation of acoustic stud partitions with sealed penetrations, ensuring both acoustic and fire integrity.

Other interior elements comprised vinyl floors with coved skirting, suspended ceilings, sanitary ware, tiling, and custom-fitted furniture. The fit-out extended to a full mechanical and electrical installation, covering all aspects. Additionally, a thorough fireproofing system was implemented throughout the facility.
