Church of oak Distillery
Ballykelly Distillery, home to the Church of Oak Distillery, is an iconic establishment nestled on the canal just outside Monasterevin, Co. Kildare. The distillery, with a profound history dating back almost a century, has undergone a transformative reimagination to resume whiskey production.
The works involved in this project placed a paramount emphasis on Health and Safety throughout. The asbestos removal, guided by the Asbestos Survey Report, set the foundation for subsequent actions. The full demolition of existing buildings and the removal of the Building C Roof and Existing Steel Frame demanded a comprehensive approach, with a simultaneous focus on safety measures.
The revival of this facility, with its original mill race aqueduct, malting house, store, and furnaces, emphasizes the commitment to producing high-quality whiskey for the international market. The new facility aims to restore the site’s original purpose, engaging in functional economic activities that honour the agricultural roots of the land.
