The development comprises a new two-bay fire station together with dedicated office, training and welfare facilities. The facility will include a training yard and drill tower, lecture room, canteen, staff facilities and individual changing areas for the fire crew, along with dedicated equipment storage and operational spaces.
Sustainability and energy efficiency are key elements of the design, incorporating PV panels, air-to-water heating and a high-performance building envelope in line with NZEB principles. The project also includes associated site infrastructure, access arrangements and external works.
Once completed, the new station will provide Stradbally’s fire crews with a modern and future-focused operational base, enhancing training facilities and supporting the delivery of essential emergency services to Stradbally and the wider County Laois community.
