Ormonde Construction delivered the Newpark Primary Care Centre in Kilkenny, a major Design & Build healthcare development providing a range of primary, specialist and community healthcare services within one modern facility. The project involved the construction and complete fit-out of a 5,867m², three-storey Primary Care Centre, together with a fourth-floor plant room, pharmacy and community facilities. The building incorporates a dedicated dental floor, private doctors’ offices, physiotherapy facilities and specialist clinical and treatment areas.
A significant element of the project was the coordination of complex mechanical and electrical services, including specialist dental installations, Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery, air conditioning, suction pipework, compressed air systems and secure access control throughout the facility.
Extensive external and civil works formed an important part of the development, including car and bicycle parking, set-down areas, landscaping, pathways and cycleways, a playing pitch for the neighbouring school and works to the existing lake. The infrastructure package also included a foul water pumping station, drainage and associated site services.
Constructed to NZEB standards and delivered as a turnkey development complete with furniture and fittings, the project demonstrates Ormonde Construction’s ability to successfully manage and deliver complex, high-specification healthcare developments.
