Ormonde Construction

Project St. Teresian's

The Teresian School in Dublin 4, embarked on a redevelopment project on a brownfield site within a live school environment, necessitating a phased handover. The new construction included a two-story build to the existing Pre-School/Junior School building.

Additionally, the project involved the construction of a sports hall and ancillary facilities for the Secondary School on the site of the existing schools. This included associated site works and the demolition of a section of both the existing Pre-School/Junior School and Secondary School buildings.

The complexity of the project demanded intricate temporary works and tie-in details with the existing school buildings, as well as demolition of certain structures.
Services
A considerable number of electrical services, water mains, foul, and storm drains were re-routed to facilitate ongoing works while ensuring the school remained operational.

All construction activities occurred within the live school environment with minimal disruption to school activities.  A phased handover approach facilitated parts of the development to be completed while allowing the school to operate as usual.
