Project ADAMStown
The scope of the contract encompassed the demolition of the existing structure on a brownfield site. The subsequent construction involved the creation of a new two-story community centre featuring four multi-purpose community meeting rooms with associated kitchenette, toilets, and storage areas; a single-story double-height sports hall with corresponding storage areas; a fitness suite; changing areas; two entrance lobbies and a reception; and various ancillary accommodations. The exterior features comprised a full-size all-weather sports pitch, car parking facilities, landscaping, and all necessary associated site works.
Situated adjacent to a secondary school on a bustling road leading to Adamstown train station, meticulous planning ensured minimal disruption to the neighbouring school and traffic during peak times for all works and deliveries.
The construction methodology incorporated full-height precast concrete insulated wall panels, precast concrete floor panels, precast concrete stairs, and a combination of precast concrete roof panels and structural steel with Kingspan roof sheeting. Ormonde Construction Ltd managed all precast works on a design and build basis.

Subject to fast-track planning, the project timeline was streamlined to 15 months, from the submission of the Planning Application to the handover of the completed building to the client. Being within a designated Strategic Development Zone, the Community Centre was constructed within a seven-month program, adhering strictly to the allocated budget.
The design of the building incorporated separate entrances for daytime use by the community and sports facilities for the school. The entire facility is accessible to the community after hours and on weekends.
