Ormonde Construction delivered significant construction and development works at Boortmalt’s malting facility at The Maltings, Athy, Co. Kildare, one of Ireland’s key malt production facilities serving the brewing and distilling industries.
The project involved the delivery of specialist industrial and process infrastructure within an established operational environment. Works included structural steel construction, process and storage areas, heavy-duty flooring, plant integration and associated civil and building services works. A key aspect of the project was the coordination of construction activities with the specialist operational requirements of the facility. Particular attention was given to groundworks, drainage, services integration, durable industrial finishes and the safe movement of vehicles and materials throughout the site.
External works included hardstanding and loading areas, drainage infrastructure, service connections and associated site development works.
Working within a specialist manufacturing environment required careful planning, coordination and a strong focus on health and safety throughout the works.
The project demonstrates Ormonde Construction’s experience in delivering complex industrial and process-led developments, where construction, specialist plant and ongoing operational requirements must be successfully coordinated.
