The Glanbia Crystallization Building project was delivered at Glanbia’s Ballyragget facility, one of the largest milk processing plants in Europe. The works involved the construction of a new processing building together with extensive alterations and connections to the existing operational plant.
The project included interconnections with adjoining buildings, road diversions, marshalling and truck holding areas, parking facilities, a new refrigeration plant, bunded silos, drainage works and alterations to the existing wastewater treatment plant.
A key challenge was carrying out the works within a live milk processing environment while maintaining ongoing production. This required careful planning, close coordination and continuous engagement with Glanbia’s project management and production teams.
The programme was delivered within a very tight timeframe, with sections of the facility completed and handed over on a phased basis to support continued operations.The project demonstrates Ormonde Construction’s ability to deliver complex industrial works safely and efficiently within a highly active manufacturing environment.
